This is pretty much the album I have been waiting for since about 1998. It has all the hallmarks of a truly great album. The playing is spectacular, the song writing is rock solid and the chemistry and jovial camaraderie between the three is clearly evident. Lets keep going in this direction and see where the journey takes us.
It is perfectly complimented by some superb artwork which captures the essence of the record.

Bought the album at the Media Club in Vancouver, went back to my room, listened to the entire album into the early morning hours. Yes,I’ve been listening to it NONSTOP since. Never quite know what to expect from Jeff and it’s always better than I imagined. I can feel the passion of the songs in my bones man! What a great job on production to!You got the goldon ear Jeff. Glad to have met you! Hope to see ya again. CHEERS!

The Ground Cries Out is the album Jeff has been waiting to make ever since The Edges of Twilight. Sonically, it embraces every aspect of Jeff’s soul at this present moment … I was blessed to see a small snippet of this album in creation and since that moment, to now, and hearing it in it’s entirety, I am just so proud of Jeff and all involved. ‘The Cobra’ is a definite stand out for me, as is ‘One Star In Sight’ … lyrically that song is just so beautiful and haunting. Also beautiful to hear is ‘The Mekong’ – congratulations to Jay for that song, I find myself humming it quite often! I don’t think there is anything NOT to love about this album … it’s Jeff’s best work in a long time and will certainly remain in a lot of fan’s hearts as a return to his true roots

I love the song The Cobra. My wife and I are going to see Jeff Martin tonight in Hamilton and we have ROW 1….I cant think of anybody else that we have seen in a few years that has gotten us this excited for their concert.

Love the album. There are no “filler” songs on this album. Every song is solid from first to last. Jeff has come back in a big way with an awesome blues rock record. I bought his first 2 solo releases and liked them but this album is my favorite of the 3. This album is so much better than the recycled rock that is on the airways right now. I had the pleasure of seeing 2 of his recent shows(Duncan and Victoria). His live shows kick so much ass!! I’m loving the Cobra right now and I am going to try to learn how to play Blue Mountain Sun. Awesome record Jeff!!

No word to describe the feeling i had the first time i listen to the album. Its the song of heaven, everything is just perfect. The drums (remember me john bonham), the bass (i freaking love the sound and i try to make the same effects), the guitar (omg… M-I-A-M) and the voices (so strong and sweet at the sametime…)! All the other instrument are awesome!
I live in quebec city and i can’t go see you guys in montreal because its the week i dont have a car to go and i have school the next day. I dont care if i have school but my parents does… -__- i’m hoping that you will come in quebec city … But i just wanted to tell you that the ground cries out is the best album of 2011! Hope you will make a new album soon…
With love, and admiration for your talents

Jeff Martin never ceases to amaze me. It is very seldom that I will listen to an album from beginning to end as I find that a lot of bands (especially newer bands) tend to have a lot of ‘filler’ songs on their albums. The album’s an amazing body of work. I’ve been listening to it non-stop for the last two weeks.
Congratulations Jeff.

LOVE the new album. Very sultry and sexy as I’d expect from Jeff with Jay and Malcolm adding something new that I hadn’t expected. Brilliant musicians, excellent lyrics and a feeling I can’t explain with my eyes open.

Since the day Jeff made me hear the instrumental of the new record, and sang a couple of the songs for me at the studio, i have fallen in love with them, and the Tea party albums have also really grown on me. he turned me from a metal-head to a Hard rocker. love the songs, the songwriting, instrumentation and the mixes sound fantastic! True artistic pleasure.
Cant wait to buy the Record once it releases in Australia.
